Christmas is only 9 months away!!!!

Christmas is only 9 months away!!!!

Ok so you all might think I’m nuts but we all have to plan ahead right? So I wanted to get everyone thinking about this year giving something “really special” to the loved ones in your life. Give an investment that will be handed down from generation to generation….something that will only increase in value as time goes on!!!!

So I am offering up a nine month layaway plan for all commissioned works of art!!!

Here are all the details….

Purchasing Artwork & Commissioning a Portrait

Selina paints commissioned portraits of individuals, couples and families & pets. Enjoy a unique original hand-painted portrayal by Selina Farmer that you will treasure forever.

In her paintings Selina blends together significant imagery and lively brushstrokes to create an unprecedented piece of art that not only expresses the subject’s personality but also tells a story of what is important in their life. With her unique vision and talent, Selina collaborates with her subjects to create a magnificent portrayal . . .

Whether a way to pay tribute to a loved one….capture a child growing up all too fast…. or as a lasting memorial to a loved one that life took way too soon– this commissioned portrait will tell a powerful story throughout the ages. Reaching into the soul of her subjects, Selina is inspired to create a beautiful work of art to treasure and pass down though generations!!! .

~Payment~
You can layaway!!!

Pay the 25% down when you ''Buy It Now''

You have the choice of 3, 6 or even 9 months to make payments!!!

**you must wait for me to send you an Invoice**

Mazzy Blue Studios offers our customers a unique Layaway Payment Program to assist our customers in obtaining that perfect artwork.

We realize that sometimes "right now" isn't the ideal time to make a purchase but the thought of missing out on that special one of a kind painting makes it difficult to say no. Well now you can have the best of both worlds with our unique payment program that allows you to obtain that piece of art without breaking the bank.

Customers can take advantage of our option to pay artwork off over a number of months without the risk that the piece may be sold in the meantime or not being able to purchase a commissioned piece in honor of that special someone. This gives you complete flexibility and enables you to relax knowing that you have plenty of time to pay for your favorite painting or commissioned piece.

~Step One~

Upon the Artist receiving the down payment which is considered to be the estimated 25% of the total price of the work of art to be created the Artist will contact you with the commission contract & payment agreement. .

The remaining sales price of the work of art shall be paid to the Artist upon completion of the layaway contract.

Payments can be made through Pay Pal or Money Order

~Step Two~

Send your Photos:
All photographs and any additional materials you send will be returned to you when your custom portrait is delivered.

* ~* Remember that better photos make better portraits! *~*

Send at least one good photograph showing the face of the subject(s). If possible, send photos taken that he/she is looking directly at the camera for detail reference.

Send a few photos that convey the personality of the subject, if possible. Selina would like to get to know her subject!!!

Please try to choose photos that are taken in the best of light and are crisp!!!

A great painting must be a collaborative effort in the early stages. Since you and the artist will be working together closely online…a digital images, or a scanner and a lot of communication through email is required. We will start by you sending the artist pictures of the subject. Pictures that you think would make a great painting. To start with we will need crisp & clear images for detail…also the artist will need to figure out the composition and pose.

Selina tends to abstract the backgrounds or turn them into complimentary washes of color. She finds that background in detail tends to take away and distract from the subject matter.

Send photos by email. Please identify all subjects in each image and include any special instructions in your email to mazzyblue@mazzyblue.com..

~Step Three~

PROGRESS REPORTS
If you have commissioned a custom portrait or a composite from several photos, you will receive a preliminary sketch via email showing the composition for your approval.
Artist agrees to furnish the Purchaser with progress reports during the creation of the work, which can include pictures of the work in progress. The pictures may be digital images and sent by email. A progress report will be sent upon request by the purchaser, but no more frequently than once a week.

Selina will also send a scan of your final custom portrait via email for review before shipping.

~Step Four~

Receive your Portrait!
Painted portraits from photos typically take several weeks* to complete. Upon receipt of your payment, Selina will contact you with an estimated completion date for your custom portrait art. (All custom portraits are created in the order in which they are received.)

* If you need your custom portrait art by a certain date or for a special occasion, please let Selina know and she will do everything possible to accommodate your request.

~Also Available: Signed Art Prints of your Portrait~
In response to many requests from happy customers who wished to share their portrait with friends and loved ones, we have begun offering Fine Art Prints & Card sets. These high quality prints are produced on archival acid-free paper with colorfast inks. Each print captures the rich color and detail of the original and is hand-signed by the artist. For more information on placing a special order for prints of your portrait, contact the artist at the email.

Remember I do requests, so if you would like to have a portrait painted of a loved one or yourself then please feel free to contact me. I will work with your budget and you can always make payments.

This painting is currently available on my etsy site.

My Bunny Love...

This is my latest creation!!! I made her using a white swirl Minky and a pattern I received from http://jennylovesbenny.blogspot.com/ Her stuff is truly amazing!!! I used some of my felt craft scraps for the hat to keep her furry little head warm from the early spring chill!!!

This cutie needs a loving home...

Bunny Love will prove to be a loyal companion during the long work day set next to your computer...tucked away in your purse...a pocket...backpack...you name it and Bunny Love will willing accompany you!!!

She is sure to bring a smile to your face when you need a pick me up:)

She is a very good listener as well!!!

Bunny Love is completely made by hand...hours of hard work and loving effort went into her creation!!! This makes her a true work of art...

Bunny love is made of the softest White Swirl Minky, Safety Eyes, Felt, Ribbon,Floss & Thread, cotton stuffing...oh yes and lot's of LOVE!!!She measures in at around 5 and half inches!!!

Due to her small size she is not recommended for small children!!! She would love to be adopted out to an older child or adult who is young at heart:)

Late Night Sketches

The pre- orders for Nikita's Journey are now open!!! Thanks to everyone for all your orders so far!!! Every order counts!!!!

My man is working on a website for the book as well!!! So I will let everyone know when it is up and running!!!!

Lot's of things happening here at Mazzy blue Studios!!!! As you my have noticed we have redesigned the website!!!! Please let me know how you all like it? Constrictive criticism is always welcome!!!! We also just finished an updated logo that I happen to really LOVE!!!! I think it captures the energy of my art!!!!

We are also in the process of setting up an online gallery and shop!!!

I'm working steadily on the upcoming exhibit of "If Chairs Could Talk"....I will be posting pictures soon!!!

Last night as I lay in bed I found myself restless....I could not sleep. So I got up a did a few sketches that I thought I would share with you all.

These two are going to be the paintings that I need to do for the Trail of Tears Show in Oklahoma. They just kind of came to me....and I think this is the reason I was not able to sleep...like they were call to me....needing to be let out of my head to escape onto paper. Next they shall move onto my canvas for their forever home....

This was the last sketch of the night....my constant companion...Zoe. She was awoken by me getting up in the wee hours of the morning to sketch. So she decided to curl up in a blanket right beside me and watch until she drifter back to sleep. So I had to draw her all curled up in her dogie dreamland....

Cheers~
